Casey Seals Open Water Swim Award
The Casey Seals Open Water Swim Award for the summer open water swimming season is running again.
This is open to all club members. You don't have to register for the award - we check the results for each event on the Open Water Swim Calendar for all club members.
Club membership is only $25 per calendar year and $15 from 1 July to 31 December. Visit the Membership page for more information about how to join and to download a brochure or membership form.
We retrieve your results from the open water swims listed in the Victorian OWS calendar and enter them into the points calculator spreadsheet. The progressive points will be displayed here during the season.

How is it worked out?
Points are calculated for every open-water swim that you do during the season. Your 4 highest scoring swims plus 10% of all your other swims are added to get your total score.
The points for each swim are calculated as the total of 2 components:
1. Time
Your time is compared to the winner of your category:
( Category winning time / Your time adjusted by Wetsuit factor ) x 10
2. Place
Your category placing is compared to the number of entrants in your category:
(1 - ( Your placing / No. entrants )) x 10 / Wetsuit factor

Important Note:
To participate in the OWS Award, you must be a registered club member. All previous members must re-register by 1st February otherwise you will not get any points for swims that were done before you re-register.
